Εξαμηνιαία επιστημονική επιθεώρηση (στην αγγλική γλώσσα). Περιλαμβάνει άρθρα Ελλήνων και ξένων ειδικών επιστημόνων, στρατιωτικών αναλυτών και άλλων ειδικών του χώρου της αμυντικής και διεθνούς πολιτικής, των εξοπλισμών, της γεωστρατηγικής και άλλων συναφών αντικειμένων. Επίσης περιλαμβάνει συνεντεύξεις προσωπικοτήτων του ελληνικού και διεθνούς χώρου, πολιτικών, στρατιωτικών καθώς και ειδικών επιστημόνων. Το Defensor Pacis στοχεύει στην παρουσίαση ειδικών αναλύσεων επί θεμάτων της τρέχουσας κυρίως επικαιρότητας.

«Τα δημοσιευμένα στο ‘Defensor Pacis’ κείμενα έχουν τη θετική επιστημονική έγκριση του Επιστημονικού Συμβουλίου ή/και αυτήν εξωτερικών κριτών υπό καθεστώς ανωνυμίας, οριζομένων από το Επιστημονικό Συμβούλιο του Ι.Α.Α.».

Εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον τεύχος για τους ερευνητές που ασχολούνται με τον τομέα του Crisis Management (Ι. Panagiotopoulos – P. Petrantonakis – S. Hadjidema – n. Chrissopoulos –Y. Theodoridis – D. Koutsantonis). Επίσης περιέχει σημαντικότατα άρθρα αναφορικά με την ιδεολογική συνιστώσα και την στρατιωτική στρατηγική της Χεζμπολά στην γαλλική γλώσσα (M. Brunelli). Επίσης θέματα ασφάλειας και έναν εξαιρετικά ευφυή και τεκμηριωμένο κριτικό σχολιασμό για το κυπριακό ζήτημα και το θέμα των Βρετανικών βάσεων του W. Mallinson, καθιστούν το περιεχόμενο του τεύχους πολύτιμο για τον ερευνητή. Επίσης, η επεξεργασία του ζητήματος της εθνικό-κρατικής διπλωματικής ‘ουδετερότητας’ στο νέο περιβάλλον ασφαλείας από τον Gunter Hauser ζωντανεύει με τον πλέον ενδιαφέροντα τρόπο σημαντικά θέματα Διεθνούς Θεωρίας και Πράξης.

Πολύ χρήσιμο για τον ερευνητή των θεμάτων ενέργειας με σημαντικότατο άρθρο του στελέχους της ρωσικής πετρελαιοβιομηχανίας M. Rukomoynikova, για τον αγωγό Μπακού – Τσεϋχάν. Επίσης εμπεριέχονται εξαιρετικά τεκμηριωμένες αναλύσεις για θέματα ασφάλειας διεθνώς (J. Nomikos) και στην Ελλάδα, καθώς με άρθρο του Ι. Μάζη ανοίγει και ένας ενδιαφέρον διάλογος για τη δημιουργία Συμβουλίου Εθνικής Ασφαλείας στη χώρα μας. Το άρθρο του M. Brunelli για το ζήτημα της ασφάλειας σε ένα μεταβαλλόμενο νέο Ιράκ παρουσιάζει επίσης μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον και σοβαρή τεκμηρίωση. Πολύ σημαντικές και χρήσιμες είναι οι αναλύσεις για το γεωπολιτικό γίγνεσθαι στο Ισραήλ και ιδιαίτερα η ανάλυση της συμπεριφοράς των Χαμάς και Φατάχ μετά την απόσυρση των ισραηλινών στρατευμάτων από τη Γάζα (Ε. Foukou).

Τεύχος Νο. 16

Ο Μεσογειακός Διάλογος και η Διατλαντική προσέγγισή του είναι ένα από τα κεντρικά θέματα αυτού του τεύχους (G. Hauser). Πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα επίσης είναι η παρουσίαση των προοπτικών των πετρελαϊκών κοιτασμάτων του Ιονίου (Μ. Botsis), η γεωστρατηγική και γεωπολιτική παρουσίαση του αγωγού Μπουργκάς – Αλεξανδρούπολη (I. Th. Mazis) όπως και ο τουρκικός ενεργειακός διάδρομος (G. Karabelias). Η Κύπρος και η Μ. Ανατολή εκπροσωπούνται πολύ επιτυχώς με σοβαρά όσο και άκρως τεκμηριωμένα κείμενα (D. Papandreou, W. Mallinson, S. Litsas).
